| Matt is the main character and, obviously, the narrator of the comic. He lives in a basement apartment in a house with three other apartments. Above him are a noisy couple, above them is the landlord, and above him is Manuel. Matt works at an unidentified office in front of a computer. The rest of his life you'll pick up as you read the comic. | Nick is Matt's friend from his kindergarten days. They grew up only a few blocks away from each other. They still live around the corner from each other, only it's now downtown. Recently, Nick has been working as a supply teacher. Nick was introduced in issue no. 2 and been a main character since issue 7, The end of the world has passed. | Manuel lives in the top floor apartment in the same house as Matt. He doesn't speak English, and is illiterate in his native Portuguese. He's 70 years old and is living out his existence on the front porch. Manuel was introduced in issue no. 5, I'm looking for Joe Lasagna. Surprisingly, many readers think he's the landlord of Matt's place. He is not. He's a nosy old man with not a hell of a lot to do. The landlord's profile is below. | Trevor used to work with Matt until issue no. 7, The end of the world has passed, when he went on an university exchange program to Taiwan. He's currently studying to be a lawyer. Trevor has appeared in almost all of the issues of m@b. | Jen is Matt's closest female friend. She first appeared in issue no. 9, Truth is the first casualty of war. They are old friends from high school. Jen moved into Matt's neighborhood in issue no. 9. |

| Jay is no longer a regular in the comic, unfortunately. He was Matt's roommate until the end of issue no. 5, I'm looking for Joe Lasagna. Jay joined Matt in Europe for issue no. 6, I think I need to take some pills. Matt also met up with him in Vancouver in issue no. 9, Truth is the first casualty of war. Jay moved home to Vancouver after rooming with Matt. During his Europe trip, he found work in London, England, where he currently resides. Jay was an integral part of the comic until his sudden departure. | Steff is the ex-girlfriend of Matt. Their past has never been stated in the comic but readers have figured it out on their own. Their relationship seems to have been strained since issue no. 7 The end of the world has passed, when Steff moved in with an old boyfriend | Marion made her first appearance in issue no. 7, The end of the world has passed. She currently co-stars with Matt in Everybody's up my goat. | In an odd twist, Matt met a another girl named Steph (note the 'ph' on the end of the name) in issue no. 7 The end of the world has passed. They started seeing each other in issue no. 8 I hardly wear underwear anymore. She last appeared in issue no. 9 Truth is the first casualty of war. | The Landlord lives in the second floor apartment of Matt's house. The only time we really see him is when Matt has his seasonal flood in his basement apartment. |
